Judson at Home (part of Judson Senior Living) in Cleveland, Ohio is currently seeking a Hospice Aide/STNA.

What will I do in this role with Judson?

As a Hospice Volunteer and Bereavement Coordinator, supporting the Judson mission will include the following responsibilities:

  • Recruits, educates and selects hospice volunteers to meet the needs of hospice census.
  • Meets the needs of patients, families and caregivers by careful application of volunteer skills and services in support of the entire Hospice Team.
  • Supervises and evaluates volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Maintains statistics and files reports in a timely manner.
  • Maintains current personnel files for all volunteers.
  • Coordinates quarterly volunteer educational meetings and orientation programs.
  • As Bereavement Coordinator, completes the initial bereavement assessment that informs the plan of care to ensure continuity and attention to the identified bereavement needs of families, significant others and staff.
  • Ensures that initial assessment accurately depicts the impact the death will have or has had on the bereaved
  • Completes required bereaved report for third party vendor so that timely Satisfaction Surveys are disbursed to the identified bereaved.

What do I need for this role with Judson?

  • Experience in hospice, counseling, or other areas dealing with grieving and bereavement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor degree in social work, education or related field.
  • Experience in Hospice preferred
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and organizational skills required.
  • Knowledge of Hospice COP's as related to Hospice volunteer services and bereavement.
  • Computer literacy required, including advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
