Judson Foundation is the dedicated fundraising arm for Judson Services, Inc., a non-profit organization that operates three premier senior living communities for 500+ residents - Judson Park in Cleveland Heights, Judson Manor in the heart of University Circle, and South Franklin Circle in Chagrin Falls. What will I do in this role with the Judson Foundation?

The Philanthropy Associate is responsible for managing all administrative aspects of philanthropy, fundraising and communication activities for Judson Foundation. The Philanthropy Associate plays an essential role in providing database expertise, prospect research, fiscal management, and donor stewardship. Judson Foundation's key fundraising activities include direct mail appeals, program-specific fundraising campaigns, annual and special events.

As a Philanthropy Associate, supporting our mission will include the following responsibilities:

Gift Processing and Database Administration

  • Manage Judson Foundation's donor databases and giving tools (Raisers Edge, Research Point Analytics, Classy, Crescendo)
  • Maintain detailed and accurate constituent records for Judson Foundation using Raiser's Edge
  • Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence with high accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain procedural manual for all database functions and correspondence
  • Respond to donor requests, questions, or concerns on a timely basis

Website Administration

  • Update content on Foundation's website and giving pages

Office Management/Administration

  • Maintain accurate records of Foundation related expenses
  • Handle administrative details associated with Foundation Board meetings

Donor and Prospect Research

  • Identify new tools and strategies to use Raiser's Edge and Blackbaud Target Analytics to improve donor engagement and solicitation
  • Conduct research, document, and maintain donor information
  • Prepare research profiles and reports for Top 50 donors and campaign prospects

Foundation Events

  • Plan and execute Foundation engagement events for residents and annual Celebration of Generosity
  • Administer the Foundation's birthday card program

Donor Solicitation, Stewardship, and Engagement

  • Establish warm relationships with donors, residents, volunteers, Board of Directors, and other staff
  • Coordinate annual associate holiday fund solicitation

What do I need for this role with Judson?

  • Bachelor's degree required, nonprofit management academic training or development experience highly desired.
  • At least 1 year of fundraising/grant writing/database administration/customer service experience.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel as well as a functional working knowledge of other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong database skills, with experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge or other fundraising software and Crescendo Interactive preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills with a strong background in successfully delivering exceptional customer service and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment with minimal supervision, time management skills to ensure completion of duties and be a forward looking thinker who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions.
  • Ability to routinely travel locally and to other campuses and periodically work a non-traditional schedule/outside regular business hours if needed.
  • Consistently maintain a professional image and demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
